How to counter Hush in Valorant
Hush is the newest Duelist, and beating her is less about out-shooting her than about refusing to enter the space her utility already claims. Four of her five abilities need her to commit an anchor, a throw or a steered projectile first, so the counter is tempo and geometry, not aim. Below: how each ability is beaten, which picks punish her setup, and the positioning that defuses her pull.
To counter Hush, deny the space her utility is aimed at: clear or move off her anchors and projectiles before they detonate, never stand where a pull can drag you into a wall or a teammate, and punish the moment her crosshair is locked onto steering a flash or orb instead of holding an angle.

How to counter Hush: the short answer
Hush’s power is pre-committed. Telekinesis wants objects in her sightline, Flow announces its landing spot with a visible anchor, and Flashbulb, Displacement and Suspension all require her to lock her crosshair on a projectile while she steers it.
So the counter is three habits: read the setup and step off the landing spot, break line of sight to her utility rather than to Hush, and punish the steering windows when her aim is away from you. Her full kit then becomes a repositioning tool, not an execute.
Countering each Hush ability
Riot has not published exact cooldowns or damage, so these notes cover mechanics and timing.
| Ability | What it does | Best counter |
|---|---|---|
| Telekinesis (Passive) | Pulls ground weapons, the Spike and map switches | Keep your gun; control the floor |
| Flow (C) | Places a visible anchor, then dashes toward it | Read the anchor and pre-aim the spot |
| Flashbulb (Q) | Steerable flash that blinds anyone watching | Turn before it pops; punish the steering |
| Displacement (E) | Pull that concusses on wall or player contact | Do not stack; stay off walls and spread out |
| Suspension (X) | Steerable orb that lifts everyone caught | Move laterally and scatter; focus lifted players |
Telekinesis (Passive)
She pulls ground weapons, the Spike and map switches from outside normal interact range. Control what is left on the floor — she cannot take your weapon.
Flow (C) — the dash
She marks the landing spot with a visible anchor, then moves on a delay. Call it and pre-aim; swing the instant the anchor appears.
Flashbulb (Q) — the steerable flash
Steering keeps her crosshair on the flash, not on you — a window she cannot return fire in. A second flash or a quick swing punishes it.
Displacement (E) — the signature pull
It only concusses on contact with a wall or another player. Do not stack, and step off walls when you hear it.
Suspension (X) — the ultimate
The orb is visible in flight and she must drive it, so it can be dodged. Move laterally and spread out; lifted players cannot fire, so focus them.
Agent picks that make Hush’s life hard
This is analysis from her confirmed mechanics, not official matchup data — Riot has published no counter or pick-rate numbers. Hush loses value when she cannot steer unpunished, or when her landing spots are already covered.
- Flash Initiators: forcing her to turn stops her steering, so she detonates early or eats the blind.
- Sentinels and Controllers that lock space: site utility denies the anchors she pre-places.
- Long-range rifles on the landing point: if someone watches where Flow drops her, it is not a free entry.
- Info tools that clear utility from cover: reading her throw without standing in the open removes the execute.
Positioning rules that beat the pull
- Never stack two bodies on one retreat line — that is what Displacement needs to concuss a group.
- Keep a step of open floor between you and any wall when her signature goes out.
- Spread across the site: a scattered team makes Suspension’s lift answerable, not round-ending.
- Re-take an off-angle after the pull to trade the follow-up instead of re-peeking.
- Do not hard-push while her Displacement is unspent — make her use it first.
Mistakes people make when facing Hush
Three habits that lose rounds
- Watching Hush instead of her utility: the anchor, the orb and the thrown flash all announce the play.
- Peeking out of fear: a steered flash that scares you wide hands her the duel she wanted.
- Piling onto the site: one choke turns a single Displacement or Suspension into a round-ending catch.
What to watch after she ships
Hush goes live on October 27, 2026 with Season 26 Act VI — see the release date page for timing. Riot has not published her ability costs, cooldowns, damage or ultimate points, so any counter built on those numbers is guesswork. Worth tracking once playable: how long the Displacement pull holds and whether it can be escaped, whether Telekinesis’ range lets her contest Spike plants she cannot see, and whether Suspension’s lift can end rounds or is just a delay.
